Thanks for sending that Mighty Mike. The one question about the article refers to the sessions she atended, and wether or not she should of been surprised by the response of those who were there as well?
So many people get the idea that integrating your faith at work means that they have to take lots of time off of work to go on mission trips(like they said in the article) or push their faith on there co-workers. I think the thing that we as christians don't really realize is that we can do other things to bring our faith/christianity to work. i.e. don't swear, listen to christian music etc. Just by acting the way we were called to act should be enough to get people to wonder about what we have that is so special. It's not as subtle but it works. On a side note i've been working with a contractor for the last 2 weeks and will be for the next 12 and the first thing i noticed was how they acted to eachother and others. They are all christians and they are a real picture on takeing your faith to work.
There is a lot to be said about modelling behaviour which includes faith. I believe the more conscious we are about God's role in our life (grace) we cannot help but become tranformed which in turn tranforms others. I love the truth that our world belongs to God, because it makes a difference when we live out our life.
Personaly I find it hard sometimes to bring my faith to work because I am scared of what the others around me will think of me and how they will treat me after they find out. I think that we should always try to bring our faith to work and I do try to do that but it does not always happen with me and that is something that I am trying to change.
The article came up with some ideas as to how we can integrate our faith in everyday. Any concrete examples that may inspire us. I do believe that many examples seem awkward, until God takes ahold of it and makes the bud bloom!
Everyday I see how treating people at school with the kind of love that God has for them creates a different spirit in them. I then get to witness in different ways that they need to hear that day. Of course I have to read the scriptures and pray and get filled up with God's love so I can have some to give and know what to say.
i find that we split our lives into our secular and faith spheres, like the article said. sometimes i find it difficult to bring my faith out in the secular part of my life. I liked what mike said, that we dont need to make drastic changes, but that people should be able to see that we are different by all the little things that we do.
